Hinds withdraws from England squad with ankle injury

Tuesday, 02 June 2026

Defender Taylor Hinds has withdrawn from the England squad after suffering an ankle injury last week.

Hinds will rejoin Arsenal to undergo further assessment and treatment.

The rest of the England squad will continue training at St. George's Park ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier against Spain at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

After the Spain match, the Lionesses will return to England to face Ukraine at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium on 9 June.

England will seal a place at the 2027 World Cup in Brazil if they avoid defeat against Spain.

Next summer's tournament in Brazil will feature 32 teams and run from 24 June to 25 July.
